5 Ways to Secure Your WiFi Network from Hacker

Don't be worried about the security of your WiFi connection. Follow these steps about WiFi security.

Wifi protection

WiFi is the common name for the IEEE 802.11 standard. Nowadays, every smartphones and computers are connected with WiFi for sharing data globally or for the means of communication. I believe, must of you guys have your own WiFi but being panic about it's security or protection. This tutorial will guide you the steps to secure your WiFi network from hacker. If you have any queries regarding to the tutorial, please let us know. Hope we can help you with our all effort.

Step 1

Change the Network Name (Default SSID)

SSID stands for "Service Set Identifier". So let call it as an identifier or (name) that tells you which WiFi network to join. Thus, in security aspect, it doesn't seem like the network name could compromise security.  But adding new SSID will make for someone lesser difficult to identify the device and make it difficult to crack the personal mode of WPA or WPA2 security. It is so becauase the encrption algorithm incorporates the SSID, and password cracking dictionaries used by the hacker's job more easier. Through all the above explanation, I will suggest for a company to add a very unique SSID for your network. Example: let's suppose, I kept my SSID name as (GlobalBank). Here, keeping such name could help them understand what they might gain by hacking it. Finally, they will plan to rob a bank by penetrating my company WiFi.

Step 2

Turn off WPS

WPS stands for WiFi Protected Setup. It is the function by which devices can be easily paired with the router even when encryption is turned on. Because, when you push your button of your router, your device within it range will automatically access WiFi connection. In late, this system is used to paired with many device at a time without providing password. But as we know, all advantages bring some disadvantages, the WPS to get vulnerable by WPS attacks. Years ago, I have already explain how to hack WiFi using Dummper. Click for tutorial on WiFi hacking.

Step 3

Use Strong Password (including uppercase, lowercase, numerical, or symbols)

Nowadays, every login system request you to choose long and very complicated password. Even for more security, they might have added case sensitive. If you choose a very unique or complicated password, you will make it more difficult for a hacker to crack your password whether by brute-force attack / word-list. Thus many individual are now the victim of attack due to less secure password. After this tutorial, we will soon covered on "How to hack WiFi using wordlist". So from their, you might be able to know, how to hack WiFi network.

Note: Always use long password including numeric, symbols, uppercase and lowercase. Example: 92$sE25%32a

Step 4

Reduce the Range of WiFi Signals

Our wireless local area network use 802.11 which consists of three typical frequency ranges. Like, 2.4 GHz, 3.6 GHz and 4.9/5.0 GHz groups each have their own ranges. Here, you can change your setting according to your desire to limit the range so that those who are too far are unable to find or access the signals. Thus, it help an individuals to access the network within certain range and reduce the risk of hacking.

Step 5

Double Up on Firewalls

Every router has a firewall built in that to protect your internal network against intruder / outside attacks. Always enable your firewall, if it is not activate. Even though, following above steps will not be enough to secure your WiFi from hackers. So always turn it on as an extra layer of protection.
